Renew your Mind

Renew your Mind

Words are spoken thoughts, which are seen; thoughts are unspoken words, which are unseen. It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God’s word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen. Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Your words can be creative or destructive. Your words will be used to judge you.

My friends remember therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. So then, my friends, because of God’s great mercy to us I appeal to you: Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.

You certainly heard about Him, and as His followers you were taught the truth that is in Jesus. So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new.

In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable. Get rid of all bitterness, with passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort. Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.

Put into practice what you learned and received from me, in Christ Jesus, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.
